Jewelry Policy

COACHES PLEASE NOTE THAT IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY AND AS PER RULES OF FIFA –

NO WATCHES; EARING/PIERCINGS; JEWELLERY; HARD HEADBANDS PERMITTED.

Referees have been instructed to look for these and players will not be permitted to play if they are wearing jewellery.

PAYSA Indoor Soccer Rules

Rules are the same as outdoor soccer except for the following:

  • U10 play with 5 players plus a GK (total of 6 per side on field); Size 4 ball
  • U12 and older play with 4 players plus a GK (total of 5 per side on field). Size 4 ball
  • U14 and older play with 4 players and a GK (total of 5 per side on field). Size 5 ball.
  • At the start of the game, the home team is responsible for providing the game sheet and selecting a side.  The visiting team gets first ball in the first half. The home team will get first ball in the second half.
  • All the players wear non marking indoor shoes. Outdoor cleats cannot be used (they will slide around too much).
  • U10 will have a 15 minute practice at the beginning followed by two 20 minute halves.  All other age groups play two 25 minute halves – straight time.
  • Half time is 5 minutes – this can be less if we are behind schedule.
  • For regular season games there is no overtime. Games end in a tie.
  • All players and coaches present in the player’s box must be listed on the game sheet.

  • Unlimited substitutions.
  • Substitutions on the fly. Players must be within 2 metres of the player’s box and not be interfering with play before their replacement goes onto the playing surface.
  • The penalty for too many players is a 2 minute penalty. The offending team plays short for 2 minutes of running time. If the short-handed team is scored upon within the 2 minutes, the team returns to full strength. The player that goes into the penalty box is the last player that entered the playing area and they will be shown a blue card.

  • If the ball touches the wall it is out of play. Play is restarted with an indirect free kick from the spot the ball touched the wall. The ball must be placed behind the dotted white line for the restart.
  • If the ball strikes the back wall behind the goal and between the red lines (including the line), it is either a goal kick to be taken within the goal area or a corner kick.
  • Corner kicks are direct, if the ball touches the back wall between the red lines. The direct corner kick must be taken from the yellow spot in the corner.
  • When the ball hits the netting or roof, the restart is an indirect free kick under the spot where the ball contacted the net or roof. The exception is within the penalty area of the defending team the attacking team restart will be at the top of the penalty area.
  • The yellow goals posts and cross bar are “live”. The ball is in play until it touches the wall beside the goal posts or it completely crosses the goal line.
  • Players on the opposing team must be at least 3 metres away from the ball when a restart is taken.
  • Restarts must be taken within 5 seconds of the referee signaling play to start.
  • A yellow card means the team plays short for 4 minutes running time and the player must sit in the penalty box for the entire 4 minutes.  If non-penalized team scores the team can replace the missing player but the carded offender must remain in box for the whole 4 minutes.
  • With a red card, the player must leave the playing floor and bench and the team plays short for 6 minutes running time.
  • You must get permission from the referee to change GK’s during any stoppage of play.
  • Slide tackling is not allowed. This infraction is a direct free kick to the opposing team.

Coaches/Parents

It is the Coaches responsibility to remain until all of their players have been picked up. Parents please be on time to pick up your player if you leave.
